Okay, so no one hopes for rain on their wedding day. It’s just not something any of us day dream about when imagining how our day will play out.
But let’s be real here: rain happens. And I’m here to tell - nay - promise you if you wake up on your wedding day to stormy skies, that is more than okay!
Take Hannah and Rob’s beautiful wedding at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles. A big old house, beautiful vistas of woods and prairies, it’s about as idyllic as things get.
Now hear me out. There is so much romance to be found on a rainy day. From the soothing sound of the drops hitting leaves, the sweet smell of nature that is somehow so much more potent in the rain and a few strategically placed umbrellas, I know that - with the right attitude! - rainy day portraits can be every bit as stunning as sunny day pics (if not more so!).
Hannah and Rob are - in a word - lovely. These young sweethearts tied the knot in front of their nearest and dearest in a tented brunch affair that was the perfect balance of whimsy, romance and fun. They even created an awesome trivia game for their guests that included prizes for the winners. Oh, yes - PRIZES. Such a perfect day!
