Ooooooooooookay.
Full disclosure: I’m not even remotely unbiased with this one.
Not only are Kaila and Colin the sweetest, but their venue - the fabulous Bistro Campagne in Lincoln Square - is my husband and my “special place” to spend birthdays, anniversaries, etc.. The french onion soup will bring you to your knees.
And, oh yeah………..the bride just so happens to be Mark’s sister :-).
Kaila and Colin are one of those couples that full-on, 100% chose each other from day one. Colin even moved to the Boston area to be with his bride when she began PA school a few years back, leaving everything he was familiar with behind.
Fast forward a couple of years and Kaila - ever the gal to follow her heart and do what feels right - planned a super romantic surprise for her now hubby and popped the question in the home they share together, surrounded by candlelight. I just love it.
This awesome duo opted to do the whole “micro wedding” thing before 2020 made it very en vogue here in Chicago and I absolutely jumped at the chance to photograph their stunning wedding day (between bites of frites and sips of kir royales, of course ;-).
The whole shebang started outwith mimosas and Jimmy John’s at our house before heading to the couple’s stunning French bistro venue.
They exchanged sweet, personal vows in front of only their nearest and dearest in Bistro Campagne’s incredible courtyard before we all sat down and enjoyed a faaaaaabulous feast.
And let me tell you what, Chicago brides. Dayna with Toss the Bouquet Flowers did the most AMAZING job in bringing Kaila’s vision to life! Big, romantic white blooms nestled in lush garlands of greenery, antique golden candle holders, the dim romantic glow of tea lights along with the charming atmosphere of their venue….it was pure elegance, charm and romantic whimsy from start to finish.
Congratulations, you crazy kids! Love you guys. xoxo
