Most people wouldn’t humor my “hey, if you guys are at all interested, early Sunday mornings downtown are the PERFECT time to have your engagement session!” pitch. But the lovely Gabrielle and her handsome fiance, Vaughn, are not most people.
And let me tell ya - did they reap the benefits! I know, I know. Dragging yourself out of bed and into a cute outfit at the crack of dawn on a weekend day might not sound super appealing at first, but hear me out:
The sunlight is PERFECT. Soft but dramatic, gentle pink and purple hews reflecting off the city’s world renowned architecture.
It’s COOL. Though infamous for our brutally cold winters, Chicago’s summers are hot and humid - a recipe for sweat, frizz and overall frustration when trying to appear effortlessly fabulous during your engagement sessions. By scheduling your session early, you’re beating the heat!
No tourists! By 10am, Chicago’s streets are a’buxz with tourists soaking in all the city has to offer but at 7am, there’s an excellent chance that the vast majority is still sleeping off last night’s deep dish pizza.
We can take “risks”. As the third largest city in the US, Chicago’s streets are typically clogged with traffic and big city chaos but early on a Sunday morning, I can jump into the middle of La Salle Street to capture gorgeous, dramatic shots that would be near impossible at any other point during the day.
