How is it almost Christmas?!

It seems like only yesterday since Carin and Phil’s incredible art deco influenced, elegant Chicago wedding was held at the stunning St. Jane Hotel in downtown Chicago. This place exudes elegance in a way only that’s only second to the amazing couple themselves.

Carin and Phil are, without a doubt, perfect for one another. In addition to their obvious devotion to each other, they’re also both deeply committed to their families and closest friends. I believe people sometimes overlook that element of the whole “getting married” thing.

Family.

We’ve all heard the well meaning words of wisdom while preparing for our wedding day: “Oh, nothing really changes after you get married! It still feels the exact same.” This was not the case for me! Once Mark and I exchanged our vows and rings in front of all of our loved ones, we were linked by legacy, by heritage, by family. A line was drawn between us, forever linking our names together in our family trees.

Woah. The momentous realization struck me like a ton of bricks after our wedding day and things have never been the same since. But in the best way possible.

Now, I digress, but only a little! Point being, Carin and Phil both really seemed to have already understood the magnitude of taking this step together and, man oh man, was it incredible to capture!
