katie & john – a winter beach engagement session

I don’t know what I did in a past life to deserve consistently working with such amazing people, but I’m definitely not complaining!

Katie and John are the kind of couple who radiate positive energy and, luckily for me, it’s definitely contagious. I had so much fun running around Montrose Beach on Chicago’s north side with them earlier this month. This was only about two days post Polar Vortex fun (bye, Felicia!) and we had a miraculously balmy 45 degree afternoon to enjoy AND had the gift of the gorgeous ice structures our little friend from the north left behind in Chicago. We took full advantage of the empty beach, the stunning skyline and the dramatic ice that created an almost alien landscape.

Their winter engagement shoot was the perfect way to kick off their wedding photographic journey. I cannot wait to capture them as they tie the knot next December! One lucky wedding photographer, here.
