jennifer & brett - a chagall four seasons chicago elopement
Man, oh man, do I love a good elopement! I had SO much fun running around Chicago with Jennifer and Brett on their wedding day last month. If ever you feel that the world is a cold, unfriendly place, I highly suggest slipping on a wedding dress and strolling around the Loop on a summer afternoon. The amount of "Oh my gosh, congratulations!" these guys got was amazing. People jumped up and down, people cheered, people gave them STARBUCKS GIFT CARDS. It was a wonderful thing to behold. And a quick note to self: I need to stop saying "Thank you!" to strangers when they're congratulating the newlyweds I'm working with. They're not congratulating you, Maura. Stop stealing people's congratulatory thunder. End of note.
Jennifer and Brett exchanged the sweetest, most heartfelt vows in front of the stunning Four Seasons mosaic by Marc Chagall on a beautiful June afternoon. She looked gorgeous in a 1930's/40's style wedding dress, complete with a bird cage veil and owl purse (her look really reminded me of the scene in The Notebook where Ally gets engaged to the boyfriend who is not Ryan Gosling at that dance with her parents but I DIGRESS) and he looked exceedingly dashing to match.
I'm beyond excited for this amazing couple and am so grateful to have had the chance to dance around Chicago with them on their most special of days. A huge congratulations, Jennifer and Brett!
